Mary T. Carothers Summer Environmental Studies Scholarship

About this program

The Garden Club of America offers the Mary T. Carothers Summer Environmental Studies Scholarship, a single annual $3,000 award to support undergraduate summer field work, research, or classroom study that provides experience beyond regular coursework. Eligible applicants are U.S. citizens or permanent residents enrolled at U.S. colleges who will pursue summer study following their freshman, sophomore, or junior year. Applications must be received at GCA Headquarters in New York City by February 5 preceding the summer of study, and applicants may submit only one GCA scholarship application (several GCA scholarships are reviewed together). Recipients are selected by the GCA Scholarship Committee; IRS restrictions preclude funding international students.
