About this program
The American Association of Teachers of Japanese (AATJ), through the Mayumi and Masao Oka Professional Development Fund, is awarding five $1,000 scholarships to help defray expenses related to attendance at the 2026 AATJ Spring Conference. The Oka Fund, established by a donation from Mayumi and Masao Oka, supports member professional development, AATJ leadership expenses, and other PD events and will operate for at least ten years. Applicants must be current AATJ members and awards are intended specifically for Spring Conference–related costs.
