Michael S. Neale Award

About this program

The American Psychological Association’s Division 18 offers the Michael S. Neale Award to recognize an individual with an outstanding record of advocacy, research, program development, or service delivery benefiting people with serious mental illness. Contributions may include leadership, promotion of evidence-based practices, consumer-focused rehabilitation and recovery services, or advancement of psychology in community mental health and assertive community treatment. Nominees must demonstrate significant achievements in one or more of these areas and are submitted by others, not through self-application. Nominations require a letter of no more than two pages, the nominee’s curriculum vitae, and two additional support letters; materials are due annually on May 31.
