Michelson Grants in Reproductive Biology

About this program

Found Animals offers Michelson Grants of up to $250,000 annually for up to three years to support innovative research toward a permanent, single-dose, nonsurgical sterilization product or technology for male and female dogs and cats. The international program seeks low-cost, scalable approaches with potential to reduce shelter intake and encourages proof-of-concept studies in cell culture, rodents where appropriate, or dogs and cats.

Eligible applicants include academic institutions, biotechnology companies, research institutes, qualified individuals, and collaborative groups worldwide. Projects must demonstrate a significant improvement over existing products; certain approaches, including immunocontraception, hypothalamic targeting, and targeted cytotoxins, require relevant preliminary efficacy, targeting, safety, or species-specific data.
