HTRS Mid-Career Research Award (MCRA)

About this program

The Hemostasis & Thrombosis Research Society (HTRS) offers the Mid-Career Research Award, providing $216,000 over two years for clinical, translational, or basic research in hemostasis and/or thrombosis. The award supports clinicians, physician-scientists, and discovery-based scientists transitioning to research independence and R01-equivalent funding. Applicants must hold an MD, DO, PhD, MD/PhD, or equivalent degree; have 5–15 years of academic research experience and a faculty position at a U.S. or Canadian institution; demonstrate relevant career development funding and a path toward a first R01 or equivalent; and be HTRS Core-level members in good standing. Letters of intent are due August 14, 2026, and full proposals are due December 11, 2026.
