MOAA Foundation Community Outreach Grants

About this program

The MOAA Foundation Community Outreach program awards grants of up to $5,000 to MOAA councils and chapters that deliver direct assistance to uniformed service members, veterans, and their families across ten priority areas (Housing, Food Assistance, Employment, Health including Behavioral Health, Family Support, Community Reintegration, Financial Assistance, Legal Assistance, Transportation, and Crisis Relief). Applications are accepted annually from Dec 1–Feb 28 (2026 cycle: opens Dec 2025, closes 2026-02-28); the grant year runs May 1–April 30, with scoring in early March, approvals at MOAA’s Spring Board Meeting, funds available in May, and budget reconciliation due by May 31. Eligible applicants must be a MOAA council or chapter that either provides services directly or serves in a leadership role within a local collaboration delivering the services, and grant funds must be used only for programs meeting the stated criteria; applicants should review the grant resources and apply via the SurveyMonkey portal.
