Mollenkopf Aesthetic Breast Reconstruction Fund

About this program

The Aesthetic Foundation/The Aesthetic Society, with support from Susan and Steve Mollenkopf and matching funds from the Qualcomm Foundation, offers the Mollenkopf Aesthetic Breast Reconstruction Fund to provide reimbursement awards up to $10,000 to help low‑income breast cancer patients complete aesthetic or revisional breast reconstruction. Awards reimburse surgical‑related fees (e.g., anesthesia, OR, pathology) and non‑surgical final‑stage reconstruction expenses (e.g., co‑pays, medications, medical equipment, transportation); grants are intended to complement donated surgical services. Eligible applicants are Aesthetic Society member surgeons in the U.S. applying on behalf of patients who require reconstruction due to breast cancer (not for acute complication treatment); patients must consent to pre‑ and post‑surgery BREAST‑Q surveys and may be asked to provide stories, and may not be a family member or employee of the surgeon. Applications are accepted on a rolling basis and require a completed application, clinical history, reconstructive plan and goals, requested amount and use of funds, and original signed Patient Participation Agreement and Medical Release mailed to the Foundation.
