Moody Scholars Application & Eligibility

About this program

The Moody Foundation’s Moody Scholars program awards 80 renewable scholarships of $4,000 per year (up to four years) to support undergraduate study at Texas colleges. Applications open mid‑October and close at the end of November, with finalists selected at the end of March; awarded funds are restricted to Texas institutions. Applicants must rank in the top 25% of their graduating class at one of eight eligible Texas high schools (Galveston Ball High School, O’Connell College Preparatory, Upward Hope Academy, Odyssey Academy, Dallas Lincoln High School, Madison High School, Juan Navarro High School [Austin], or Northeast High School) and demonstrate financial need; selection criteria include class rank, GPA, SAT/ACT scores, a 300‑word writing sample, and two letters of recommendation.
