About this program
The Mineral & Metallurgical Processing Division (MPD) of SME invites graduate and undergraduate students to submit posters to the MPD Student Poster Contest at the MINEXCHANGE SME Annual Conference & Expo, offering cash awards (top prizes up to $1,000), additional placement prizes and complimentary MPD Luncheon tickets for accepted posters, with presentations judged by industry and academic panelists. Applicants must be currently enrolled undergraduate or graduate students at an ABET‑accredited university or at a university with an SME student chapter, and their research must focus on mineral processing or extractive metallurgy. Entries are individual (research advisors may be listed as co‑authors), require online abstract submission by December 15 following the provided template and formatting rules, and accepted authors must attend the conference in person to display and present their posters.
