Murray's Light Scholarship Fund

About this program

Community Foundation of Central Georgia administers the Murray’s Light Scholarship Fund, awarding one $500 non‑renewable scholarship annually in memory of Murray Ashley Nixon to support students pursuing their passions; selection emphasizes applicants who exemplify Murray’s qualities and active extracurricular involvement. Applications are submitted through the Foundation’s scholarship portal and the program is currently open.

Eligible applicants are female graduates of a public or private high school in Macon, GA with a cumulative GPA of 2.75 or higher who plan to pursue a bachelor’s degree at a college, university, or technical college and must submit a personal statement describing their passion and how their education will enable it. Prior recipients may reapply each year but renewals are not guaranteed; contact the Foundation if eligibility changes due to reduced course load or time off.
