Friedreich's Ataxia Research Alliance (FARA) offers three annual named grant awards—the Keith Michael Andrus Cardiac Award (KMA), Kyle Bryant Translational Research Award (KB), and Bronya J. Keats Research Collaboration Award (BJK)—to support cardiac, translational, and collaborative research in Friedreich’s ataxia; LOIs are accepted annually by Feb 15, full applications are due Apr 15, award notices are issued by Aug 1, and grants begin Sep–Oct. Applications are reviewed competitively alongside general FARA grants, and submitting as a general grant does not preclude consideration for a named award; FARA will fund up to one award of each named type per year from applicants meeting the award‑specific criteria. Applicants must submit a detailed budget justification with their application and should note that FARA may approve an award amount different from the amount requested based on review outcomes.
