About this program
The American Journalism Historians Association (AJHA) offers its annual National Award for Excellence in Teaching to recognize outstanding college or university instruction in journalism and mass communication history; the award includes a $500 honorarium. Eligible nominees may be tenured or untenured, full- or part-time faculty with at least three years of college-level teaching experience who teach journalism or mass communication history. Nomination materials must include a teaching statement, CV, relevant syllabus, three examples of teaching effectiveness, and a letter of support, submitted electronically as one PDF by June 1, 2026.
