NephCure – Pilot Grant Program

About this program

NephCure is offering a Pilot Grant Program to support investigator-initiated clinical and translational studies that leverage CureGN and/or NEPTUNE data, biospecimens, and infrastructure to advance glomerular disease research, with awards up to $250,000 in direct costs per project ($125,000/year for two years) and no indirect costs. Proposed projects may generate feasibility data, develop clinical assays or protocols, or support early-phase trials and should emphasize collaboration, multidisciplinary integration, and sharing of data/specimens with the consortia. Eligible applicants include CureGN/NEPTUNE investigators and scientists unaffiliated with the consortia from national and international institutions, but all applications must use consortium resources and obtain Ancillary Study Review Committee and Steering Committee approval before submission to NephCure. Key deadlines are: Letter of Intent due January 15, 2027; Ancillary Study application due March 19, 2027; full NephCure application due July 16, 2027 (8:00 PM ET); projects may start no earlier than January 2028.
