About this program

The Leukemia Research Foundation offers New Investigator Research Grants of up to $150,000 over two years for projects likely to advance leukemia research; proposals focused on myelodysplastic syndromes (MDS) are also eligible. The 2027 funding cycle requires a letter of intent by February 5, 2027, with invited full applications due April 12, 2027. Applicants must be independent investigators at nonprofit academic institutions, within seven years of their first independent faculty appointment, and may be based outside the United States. Fellows, prior Leukemia Research Foundation awardees, and investigators with active grants totaling $175,000 or more annually in direct costs—or NIH R01, VA Merit, or equivalent funding—are ineligible; co-PI applications and renewals are not permitted.
