NI Research PILOT Project Funding (for Fellows)

About this program

The Neurological Institute (NI), with the NI Center for Outcomes Research & Evaluation (NI-CORE), offers pilot project awards for NI‑affiliated fellows to support early-stage neurological research, providing up to $10,000 per award (maximum, no carry-forward) with no application deadline. Applicants must contact an NI‑CORE biostatistician for an Office Hours consult (nicore@ccf.org) to review project protocol and statistical aims before applying, and include any requested biostatistical support in the budget. Required documents are the NI PILOT Project_Details Form, Budget Form, and signature pages from an NI Staff Sponsor, Research Program Manager, and Center Administrator (may be combined); applicants should consult the RPM and NI Staff sponsor when developing budgets. Eligibility is limited to NI fellows who meet funding criteria—resource availability, significance, clear and achievable aims, appropriate methods, feasibility, and a defined deliverable (presentation, paper, or grant); funding excludes capital/software purchases, meeting or travel expenses, and support for other Cleveland Clinic employees, and NI‑CORE projects are encouraged to use KP/Epic PRO data and align with NI‑CORE goals.
