NIDA Young Investigator Travel Award

About this program

Offered through ASAM in partnership with NIDA, the NIDA Young Investigator Travel Award provides early-career investigators (within 5–10 years of earning a PhD, MD, or DO) with a training experience via a fellowship to attend the ASAM Annual Conference. Award benefits include a $1,300 monetary stipend to defray travel/housing, ASAM Annual Conference registration, a one‑year complimentary ASAM membership, and a prize plaque. Applicants must be working in drug addiction (and infectious disease) research, submit a supporting letter from an academic advisor or department chair (or an NIH biosketch), a one‑page focused career statement with mini‑bio and photo, and show U.S. citizenship or permanent resident status; recipients must attend the conference and are not eligible to reenter in subsequent years.
