Nisbet Research Award

About this program

The Waterbird Society offers the Nisbet Research Award to support research and conservation of waterbirds, with preference for projects focused on terns or gulls. One or more awards of approximately $5,000 may be granted annually based on scientific merit and the likelihood of producing significant publications or conservation contributions. Applicants may be students, professionals, or amateurs from anywhere in the world, and financial or educational status is not considered. Proposals are due February 1, and awardees must publish their findings in peer-reviewed outlets and submit a 1–2-page project report.
