North Star Fund Grant Criteria

About this program

The North Star Fund offers rolling Rapid Response grants to support community organizing efforts in New York City and the Hudson Valley region. The fund aims to empower groups led by those directly affected by social issues, promoting leadership development and systemic change.

To be eligible, organizations must be based in the specified regions, have nonprofit status or fiscal sponsorship, and prioritize smaller budgets under $1 million. Coalitions are encouraged to apply, but direct service organizations, educational institutions, and political candidates are excluded.
