NRAO Doctoral Dissertation Award

The NRAO/AUI Doctoral Dissertation Award recognizes a recent doctoral graduate whose dissertation makes an important, original, and independent contribution to science using new radio astronomy data from a facility operated or jointly operated by a U.S.-based institution. The annual award includes $1,500, a framed certificate, a dinner with NRAO scientific staff, and an invitation to present a colloquium at NRAO in Charlottesville, Virginia. Applicants of any nationality must have defended their dissertation during the award year and received the degree from a recognized U.S. degree-granting institution. Applications are due by December 15 and must include a dissertation summary, defense and degree dates, supervisor information, the dissertation, and direct university verification of degree completion.
