NSGC Licensure Grant Awards

About this program

The National Society of Genetic Counselors (NSGC) offers Licensure Grant Awards to support state-level genetic counselor licensure efforts, funding activities such as outreach, printed materials, conference calls, lobbyist fees, and other project-specific expenses, but not genetic counselor salary. Applicants must be NSGC members in good standing, only one proposal is allowed per state, and proposals are reviewed on a rolling basis with total funds determined annually by the NSGC Board. Proposals must follow NSGC Grant Review Guidelines, include a one-page itemized budget, justify non-consumable equipment requests, and secure Licensure Subcommittee review of any draft bill language prior to submission. Awarded funds must be spent within the award year, receipts and a final project and financial report are due by January 31 following the award, funds may not cover member salaries or institutional overhead, and payments to individuals over $599 or lobbyist payments require SSN disclosure and 1099 reporting.
