Ocean and Fisheries Reporting Grant

About this program

The Pulitzer Center, a nonprofit supporting independent global journalism, offers reporting grants for ambitious, in-depth projects on ocean health, fisheries, climate impacts, marine conservation, and related issues such as illegal fishing, corruption, and labor abuses. Funding supports freelance and staff journalists worldwide, with particular interest in proposals from the Global South, underreported regions, collaborative teams, and solutions-oriented investigations. Applicants must submit a project description of no more than 250 words, a preliminary budget, and a compelling distribution plan, including letters of commitment from publishing outlets; applications are accepted on a rolling basis.
