Outstanding Applied Research Award

About this program

The Religious Research Association (RRA) offers the Outstanding Applied Research Award to recognize high-quality applied research on religion that benefits religious communities, leaders, and practitioners; the award includes a certificate and $500 and is presented at the annual meeting. Current RRA members may nominate or be nominated for one solo- or co-authored book, peer-reviewed article, or research project report published or released during 2023–2026. Submissions are evaluated for practical impact, accessibility, research quality, and innovation, with nomination letters addressing each criterion. Electronic nominations are due to Dr. Michael Agliardo by April 30; nominees must submit the work and a two-page CV by May 15, 2026.
