Outstanding Learning Assistant Award

About this program

The American Association of Physics Teachers (AAPT) administers the Outstanding Learning Assistant Award as a membership benefit to recognize exemplary undergraduate Learning Assistants; the winner receives a complimentary one‑year AAPT Student Membership with electronic access to American Journal of Physics and The Physics Teacher, plus a certificate, letter of recognition, and a sample press release. Physics department chairs who are current AAPT members may nominate one Outstanding Learning Assistant from their institution, and departments may pay student membership dues to recognize additional LAs. Nominations are accepted April 1–June 30; inquiries can be sent to membership@aapt.org.
