Outstanding School Nutrition Program Award

About this program

MSNA administers the annual Outstanding School Nutrition Program Award to recognize exemplary school food service programs; the winning school receives a plaque or certificate, pins for all employees, and a $50 award. Eligible applicants must employ a school food service Manager who meets certification requirements and is a member of MSNA and SNA, and the school must demonstrate documented improvements or accomplishments in the School Lunch Program. Applications are submitted to the Regional Director by September 15 each year and all applicants receive a required satisfactory site visit conducted by a committee that may include the Professional Development Committee Chair, MDE staff, a Past President, or a designee of the current President. Winners are announced at the Annual MSNA Conference, and entries are evaluated on effectiveness, creativity, and performance.
