Outstanding Teaching and Mentoring in the Field of Psychology and Law (AP-LS Award)

About this program

The American Psychology-Law Society (AP-LS) offers two annual awards—the Outstanding Teaching and Mentoring Award and the Early Career Teaching and Mentoring Award—recognizing excellence in teaching and mentoring in psychology and law; each carries a $500 honorarium and a plaque presented at the AP-LS annual conference. Eligibility: the Outstanding award requires holding a doctoral degree or JD and having taught/mentored for 11+ years; the Early Career award requires a PhD or JD and having taught/mentored for 10 years or less; nominees may not apply for both awards. Awards alternate by awarding year between educators in undergraduate/MA-terminus programs (even years) and those who have mentored doctoral/postdoctoral students or work in law/medical/non-university settings (odd years). Self-nominations are encouraged; email a nomination package by December 15 to ttc@ap-ls.org including a 1–2 page nominee statement specifying the award, an abbreviated CV (≤3 pages), summarized student evaluations (≥3 years), 1–3 supporting letters and other documentation with a 15-page total limit.
