About this program
The American Association of Physics Teachers (AAPT) sponsors the Outstanding Teaching Assistant Award to recognize exemplary teaching assistants; Physics Department Chairs who are current AAPT members may nominate up to two TAs from their institution. Awardees receive a complimentary one-year AAPT Student Membership with electronic access to American Journal of Physics and The Physics Teacher, plus a certificate, letter of recognition, and a sample press release; departments may pay student membership dues to recognize additional TAs. Nominations are accepted annually from April 1 through June 30; contact the AAPT Membership Department at membership@aapt.org for more information.
