PAFP Resident Community Health Impact Grants (RIG)

About this program

The Pennsylvania Academy of Family Physicians (PAFP), in partnership with the Pennsylvania Department of Health, funds Resident Community Health Impact Grants (RIG) to support resident-led community health scholarly projects across Pennsylvania, providing awards up to $25,000 to implement creative, community-based interventions for traditionally underserved populations. Applicants must be Pennsylvania family medicine residency programs submitting resident-led projects that are faculty-mentored, built on partnerships with community organizations, and address identified community health needs not typically reimbursed through standard health-care payment structures. Awardees are expected to place residents in leadership roles, attend the RIG Summit and present at PAFP Research Day (April 3–4, 2026 for the current cycle). The RIG application portal is currently closed while additional funding is sought.
