About this program
The Paleontological Society, Palaeontological Association, and Sociedad Española de Paleontología offer the PalSIRP-Sepkoski Grants to support international paleontology and paleobiology research. Up to 25 grants of US$1,000 are awarded directly to individuals based on the quality and feasibility of proposed projects.
Eligible applicants include graduate students, professionals, and active retirees residing in specified regions of Eastern Europe, the former Soviet Union, Africa, Central and South America, the Caribbean, southern Asia, and Indian and Pacific island nations, excluding sanctioned countries and other listed exclusions. Applications must include a cover sheet, research proposal, two-page CV, and recommendation letters, all in English, by March 1; beginning in 2026, recipients may receive an award only every other year.
