Paleontological Society Student Research Grants

About this program

The Paleontological Society offers limited student research grants to support research on any aspect of paleontology, with typical awards of $1,200–$1,500 (requests above $1,500 require justification and demonstration that other funding was considered). Eligible applicants are undergraduate and graduate student members of the Society, including international students, and applications must be submitted electronically using the Society’s form with a two‑page proposal (page 1: project description; page 2: budget and references) in 12‑point font and 1‑inch margins. A letter of support must be sent directly by the advisor or recommender by the deadline; applicants are responsible for confirming logistical feasibility, securing necessary permits, and complying with relevant regulatory requirements. Awardees must submit a short survey on project results (including photos and a citation) within 30 days of project completion.
