The Paleontological Society offers limited Student Research Grants to support undergraduate and graduate student research on any aspect of paleontology, with typical awards of $1,200–$1,500 (requests over $1,500 must include a budget justification and evidence of consideration of other funding). Applications are submitted electronically via the Society’s form by the stated deadline (listed as February 10) and must include a two‑page proposal (page 1: project description; page 2: budget and references) formatted in 12‑point font with 1‑inch margins; applicants must be Society members at the time of submission. A letter of support from the advisor or recommender must be sent directly by the deadline, applicants are responsible for securing required permits and institutional approvals (e.g., radioisotopes, human subjects, vertebrate animals) and confirming logistical feasibility, and awardees must submit a brief survey with results, photos, and citation within 30 days of project completion.
