Paleontology in the Parks Fellowship Program

About this program

Offered jointly by the Paleontological Society and the U.S. National Park Service, the Paleontology in the Parks Fellowship supports mentor–student pairs to conduct research, inventories, education, and outreach on fossil resources in NPS units nationwide. Fellows receive stipends (typically $1,500 for short/small projects or $3,500 for longer/larger projects) with additional travel/field funding available (up to ~$1,000–$1,500 per participant) and are expected to complete project deliverables, outreach activities, and professional development over about one year. Applicants must apply as mentor–student pairs: mentors must be Paleontological Society members who demonstrate relevant expertise and provide a support letter and CV, and students must be U.S.-based degree-seeking or recent graduates, also PS members, submitting a statement of interest, CV/resume, and required application forms.
