Par Aide Garske Grant (GCSAA Foundation scholarship for members' children)

About this program

The Par Aide Garske Grant, funded by Par Aide and administered by the GCSAA Foundation, awards a portion of $14,000 in educational scholarships to help children and step-children of long-standing GCSAA members attend accredited colleges, universities, or trade schools; scholarship checks are payable to the recipient and their institution. Eligible applicants must be graduating high school seniors accepted as full‑time students for the upcoming year and must submit verification of enrollment. One parent or stepparent must be a current Class A, B, or C (employed) or retired A‑Retired, B‑Retired, or AA GCSAA member with at least five consecutive years of membership, and only one child/stepchild per member may receive an award in the same year; children of Par Aide employees, GCSAA Foundation trustees, GCSAA Board members, and GCSAA staff are ineligible. Applications require an original essay (up to 500 words) on a significant experience, achievement, or risk and evidence of volunteer activities and/or outside employment; financial need is not considered and applicants are notified by mail by May 15.
