About this program
The M.J. Murdock Charitable Trust’s Partners in Science Program provides renewable three-year grants to universities and qualified research institutions to create authentic research experiences for secondary science teachers and pre-service teachers. Institutions support 3–4 teacher–scientist partnerships annually through research opportunities, professional development, coaching, and conferences that help educators bring scientific inquiry into their classrooms. Eligible applicants are universities or other qualified research institutions, applying individually or collaboratively through a lead principal investigator; applications are due May 1 annually. Teachers participate through institutions receiving program grants and conduct research over two summers with a research mentor.
