Paul and Yolanda Courtney Congress Bursary Award

About this program

The Society for Post-Medieval Archaeology offers the annual Paul and Yolanda Courtney Congress Bursary Award to support attendance at its Post-Medieval Archaeology Congress, providing up to £250 per application round (which may be split between two recipients) to cover registration, travel, accommodation, or childcare, with payments made before the Congress. Priority is given to first-time attendees, students, low‑income applicants, and BAME and minority applicants; applicants may be located anywhere, need not be Society members, and there is no age restriction. To apply, complete the Society form detailing why attendance is useful, expected outcomes, and a cost breakdown, and email it to prizes@spma.org.uk by 15 January; successful applicants will be informed by 15 February and must submit a short report for the Society website/newsletter within three months of the Congress.
