Paul W. Zitzewitz Award for Excellence in K-12 Physics Teaching

About this program

The American Association of Physics Teachers (AAPT) offers the Paul W. Zitzewitz Award for Excellence in K–12 Physics Teaching to recognize outstanding K–12 physics educators; the recipient presents an address at an AAPT Summer Meeting and receives a monetary prize, an award certificate and citation, and travel expenses. Applicants must be AAPT members for whom K–12 teaching is a primary responsibility. Previous recipients of the Oersted Medal or the Robert A. Millikan Medal are ineligible, and self-nomination is not permitted—nominations must be submitted via the AAPT nomination form.
