Phi Beta Kappa Award for Distinguished Service to the Humanities

The Phi Beta Kappa Society awards the Award for Distinguished Service to the Humanities to individuals who have made significant contributions to the humanities; recipients receive a cash prize and the William B. Jaffe medal and are honored at the Society’s Triennial Council Meeting. The award is offered on a triennial cycle with nominations solicited in advance through the Society’s publications and social media. Eligibility is by nomination only; nominators must provide a recommendation letter, the nominee’s curriculum vitae, and the nominator’s contact information, and nomination windows are announced prior to each Triennial (nominations for 2030 will open in 2028).
