About this program

The Honor Society of Phi Kappa Phi offers the triennial Scholar and Artist Awards to recognize lifetime excellence in teaching, research, public service, or the arts, granting recipients a recognition citation, life membership and a $1,000 donation to a nonprofit of their choice. Eligible nominees must be active members (initiated by April 1, 2022, with dues paid as of April 1, 2027), demonstrate sustained professional distinction (typically at least six years of substantive service with national or international recognition), and are not eligible if they are students or serving as a Society board member, divisional vice president, Scholar & Artist committee member, or employee. Applications open Dec. 15, 2026 with a deadline of April 1, 2027 and require submission via the online portal of a nominating cover letter (chapter president or other nominator; self-nomination accepted), current CV, and one to three work samples; awardees are expected to attend the Phi Kappa Phi convention.
