About this program

Russell Sage Foundation’s Sheldon Danziger Pipeline Grants (launched 2020; renamed 2025) fund innovative research on economic mobility and access to opportunity in the United States, with particular interest in structural barriers and how individuals, communities, and state entities understand, navigate, and challenge systemic inequalities. Awards target early-career scholars (Assistant Professors, Lecturers, and Adjunct Professors) and provide mentorship pairing for project and career development. Eligible applicants are early-career faculty at U.S. colleges and universities who have not previously received RSF research support or a RSF visiting fellowship, and proposals must align with the program’s focus on diversity in the social sciences and rigorous study of economic mobility.
