Pitsenbarger Awards (CCAF graduates pursuing baccalaureate)

About this program

Air & Space Forces Association (AFA) awards Pitsenbarger Scholarships to enlisted USAF and USSF personnel graduating from the Community College of the Air Force (CCAF) who plan to pursue a baccalaureate; selected recipients receive a one-time $750 grant, a presentation certificate and complimentary AFA Mission Membership, while one prior recipient annually receives the A1C William Pitsenbarger Full Measure Award (FMA) — $3,000, a personalized plaque and an invitation to AFA’s Air, Space & Cyber Conference. Standard Pitsenbarger applicants must be CCAF graduates or enrolled students planning to enter an accredited baccalaureate program and submit proof of enrollment/intent, citations/awards, a narrative of extracurricular/leadership/community service and undergraduate plans, plus a commander’s endorsement. FMA nominees must be prior Pitsenbarger awardees within the eligibility window (for 2026, awardees from 2023–2025), be current AFA members, show transcripts with at least 12 credits at C or above, provide commander and AFA Chapter/State President endorsements, and be nominated by the AFA Chapter/State President to education@afa.org by April 30, 2026; application forms and full instructions are available on the AFA website.
