Pomerance Award for Scientific Contributions to Archaeology

About this program

The Archaeological Institute of America invites nominations for the Pomerance Award for Scientific Contributions to Archaeology, recognizing an individual or team whose interdisciplinary scientific work with archaeologists has significantly advanced the field. Candidates may be professional or amateur scientists and may be based anywhere internationally; AIA membership is not required, and prior Gold Medal recipients remain eligible. Nominations must include the candidate’s name, CV, and one letter signed by at least two individuals from institutions other than the nominee or nominated team’s institution, submitted by June 1, 2027. Previous Pomerance Award recipients are ineligible.
