About this program

The Christopher & Dana Reeve Foundation, in partnership with Spinal Research (ISRT), supports pre-clinical translational research in traumatic spinal cord injury to advance therapies toward pre-IND or pre-IDE development. Eligible projects may address drugs, biologics, gene therapies, or medical devices focused on neuroprotection, regeneration, or plasticity; grants provide up to $250,000 for one to two years and are milestone based. U.S. and international academic institutions, private institutions, and companies may apply, with academic–industry partnerships encouraged. Applicants must first submit a letter of intent and, if invited, a full proposal; full drug screens, IND-enabling studies, and clinical research are outside the scope.
