About this program
The Society of American Foresters (SAF) offers the Presidential Field Forester Awards to recognize foresters with distinguished careers applying science, adaptive management, and innovative methods in on-the-ground forest management. Honorees are selected regionally and recognized at the SAF National Convention. Nominees must be SAF members with at least 15 years of forestry experience, primarily in field application, and must be recognized by peers for excellence in sustainable forest management across any employment sector. Nominations, submitted online with a letter addressing eligibility, qualifications, current or most recent position, and merit, are due March 1.
