About this program

The Chicago Community Trust offers grants through its Pre-Development Fund to support neighborhood-scale development projects in historically disinvested communities within Cook County. Grants of up to $150,000 are available for projects that drive economic growth and improve community well-being, with a focus on community-driven strategies and neighborhood impact.

Eligible applicants include 501(c)(3) organizations, entities with a fiscal sponsor, and 501(c)(6) organizations. Projects must demonstrate established site control, preferably outright ownership, and align with community visions for economic growth. Community endorsements are preferred, and eligible expenses cover a range of pre-development costs.
