Primate Research Fund - Emergency Grants for Long-Term Field Projects

The Leakey Foundation’s Primate Research Fund provides emergency grants of up to $25,000 for one year, with potential second-year support, to keep established long-term primate field sites operational during funding gaps or other emergencies. Priority is given to projects integrating research and conservation and at risk of losing valuable long-term datasets. Applicants must be the principal investigator, director, or co-director of a wild-primate study site with at least 10 years of continuous behavioral data collection on identified individuals; applications are accepted year-round through an initial eligibility inquiry.
