Professor Tom Reilly Doctoral Dissertation Award

About this program

Routledge sponsors the annual Professor Tom Reilly Doctoral Dissertation Award, awarding a £500 book voucher for an outstanding doctoral dissertation in sport and/or exercise sciences to a CASES Student or Graduate member. Applicants must be CASES Student or Graduate members within one year of successful PhD completion and provide formal confirmation of award or a graduation certificate; only one submission per university is permitted and entries are judged on scientific merit, methodological rigour and presentation. The applicant’s project supervisor must submit one electronic application (including supervisor and Head of Department certification) to jbairstow@cases.org.uk by the closing date and attach a condensed dissertation formatted in Journal of Sports Sciences style (max 2,500 words for quantitative or 3,000 words for mixed/qualitative, excluding references). The winner is required to submit an article to The Sport and Exercise Scientist within six weeks in accordance with its Guidelines for Contributors.
