About this program

Chicken & Egg Films’ Project: Hatched provides selected filmmakers with a $30,000 grant for completed documentary or nonfiction films, including hybrid projects, with at least $15,000 dedicated to an impact campaign; the remaining funds may support eligible post-production costs. The program is currently being reevaluated, with details about a new iteration expected later in 2026. Eligible applicants are women or gender-expansive filmmakers, including qualifying co-directing teams, based anywhere except comprehensively U.S.-sanctioned countries or regions, who are committed to an impact campaign. Films must have premiered within the program’s specified window, have continued release or distribution plans, and articulate clear impact goals.
