CHCI Public Policy Fellowship Program

About this program

The Congressional Hispanic Caucus Institute (CHCI) offers a nine-month, paid Public Policy Fellowship in Washington, D.C., providing recent college graduates with placements in congressional offices, federal agencies, nonprofit organizations, or the private sector. Fellows receive a $34,200 gross stipend, benefits, transportation and Metro assistance, leadership development, and professional networking opportunities. Applicants must have earned a bachelor’s degree in any field within three years of the program start date, demonstrate leadership, strong analytical and communication skills, and a commitment to public service and advancing the Latino community. Applicants must also be authorized to work full time in the United States and participate in orientation, weekly leadership sessions, community service, and other CHCI requirements; applications are due December 1, 2026, for the August 18, 2027–May 19, 2028 program.
