Ralph E. Roughton Paper Award

The Committee on Gender & Sexuality of the American Psychoanalytic Association offers the Ralph E. Roughton Paper Award for an unpublished manuscript making an original contribution to the psychoanalytic understanding or treatment of lesbian, gay, bisexual, queer, trans*, or gender-variant people. The award includes a $1,000 prize and an invitation to present the winning paper at APsA’s National Meeting, with potential publication in the Journal of the American Psychoanalytic Association. Applicants may come from any institutional affiliation; manuscripts may have been presented at professional meetings, must follow the journal’s manuscript guidelines, and may not exceed 30 double-spaced pages. Submissions are due June 1 and must include an anonymized manuscript and a separate document with the author’s contact and affiliation information.
