About this program
The Committee on Gender & Sexuality of the American Psychoanalytic Association offers the Ralph E. Roughton Paper Award for an unpublished manuscript making an original contribution to the psychoanalytic understanding or treatment of lesbian, gay, bisexual, queer, trans*, or gender-variant people. The award includes a $1,000 cash prize and an invitation to present the paper at APsA’s National Meeting, with potential submission to the Journal of the American Psychoanalytic Association. Applicants may be from any institutional affiliation; manuscripts must follow the journal’s guidelines, be no longer than 30 double-spaced pages, and be submitted by June 1 with author-identifying information provided separately.
