About this program
The National Speleological Society awards two Ralph W. Stone Graduate Fellowships annually, currently providing $2,000 each for graduate thesis research related to caves. Applicants must be NSS members pursuing graduate studies anywhere in the world and submit a research proposal, résumé with NSS number, academic record, at least two recommendation letters including one from the thesis advisor, and a detailed budget and justification. Proposals are due annually by March 15.
